TAV IT : General Overview
Looking at the airport business today, we discover various issues that challenge the airport operations running smoothly. Continuous growth in the number of people using air travel and rapidly growing service level requirements while having limited resources and facilities in hand force the airport operators to reconsider and improve their business procedures accordingly. On the other hand, we see that the complexity in business processes causes lack of collaboration among parties like airport authorities, airlines, ground handling, and air traffic control within the airports. Another reason for such an undesired outcome is that the subsystems used for routine operations are built on propriety technologies. Consequently, the subsystems cannot operate in a collaborative manner and they prevent airport operators and other parties to establish an all integrated and fully automated airport management system. And finally, they became reluctant to come up with new solution alternatives that resolve this very issue, because of the high visibility threat in media.
All the optimization and automation needs in business processes are vital and highly critical. An airport operator must take necessary actions proactively in order to minimize the potential for operational failures. Otherwise such failures lead to a variety of undesirable consequences such as operational losses, dramatic decrease in quality of services provided both to passengers and third parties, and so on. Finally, this would ruin the image of the airport itself.
Additionally looking the subject from another perspective, airport operators should have the managerial insight to plan and forecast the airport operations hence increase the revenue while promoting the airport and enhancing its service quality.
In the light of these findings, putting new technology to good use becomes inevitable for ensuring smooth running operations, lowering operational costs and ultimately in the airport. In other words, utilizing the resources with full efficiency, while keeping productivity in mind, becomes the key factor in becoming competitive in airport management business.

TAV IT : AIRPORT SYSTEMS PRODUCT PORTFOLIO
Looking into our complete product porftolio, starting with Airport Business Suite would surely be much more proper in terms of its role in the modern airport management.Airport Business Suite (ABS) provides an integration backbone within all parties of an airport, stores, distributes; real time flight data (aeronautical and non-aeronautical), financial and operational data. ABS transforms all these data to fast and accurate financial figures. ABS consists of two main elements; Airport Operational Database (AODB) and Information Exchange (IX). The backbone of the TAV IT ABS, IX (aka Information Broker) handles the integration of disparate systems by providing intelligent routing mechanisms, with high availability features, that enables ABS deliver vendor independent integration with all subsystems. Integration of the systems is to achieve true automation of the airport
business processes so that there will be less human intervention on that particular business
processes (flight updates, passenger data, baggage operations etc.) wherever necessary.
AODB, offers complete application components providing every possible functionality needed in airport operations, requires almost no manual intervention and thanks to facilities delivered by IX, it orchestrates the integration of many subsystems without any additional effort and becomes the key actor of whole airport operations.
Although ABS comes as a bundled package incorporating many modules to carry out required operations, one of the modules it offers stands out taking on a very critical mission: Commercial Management System (CMS). Simply put CMS is the commercial management application that excellently completes the operation lifecycle as well as the ABS package. CMS is specifically constructed for airports’ financial needs, processes and workflows with the necessary facilities delivered.
Making use of CMS, management, tracking and revenue generation of aeronautical and non-aeronautical services are much easier and smoother than ever. The enhanced and dynamic Tariff Management capability, automated revenue generation, fully configurable and adaptable service definitions, triggering billing process either with automated or user trigging method and many other additional functionalities enables CMS to deliver every possible facility airport executives would possibly require in terms managing the billing process. On top of its essential capabilities, TAV IT FIDS presents a complete Media and Advertisement Management module with exhaustive content and media management capabilities that truly exceeds the expectations of airport executives because of its substantial financial value delivered.
Once every display device in the airport becomes the source of income, those service charges have to be carefully consolidated and converted into financial figures as soon as possible. Here nothing could be more suitable than a billing management system with native integration infrastructure.
TAV IT CMS which is offered as a product under Airport Business Suite (ABS) bundle, is the solution that leads the airport authorities and operators to the total billing solution while enabling them taking full control and manage the monetary data both for aeronautical and extra aeronautical service charges from a centralized point.
Last but not least another exclusive functionality that surely differs our FIDS product from its rival is the sophisticated Content Management Module. This praiseworthy module is built on the idea of implementing a flexible graphic container that is capable of displaying every kind of graphic content. This modern container at the highest level has layouts and portlets that have their own customizable templates. The structure lets users easily implement and convert their conceptual designs into actual ones. The module comes with very rich screen templates library for resource and public monitors. The state of the art content editor is the crucial part of the module allows authorized users to create layouts, portlets and templates as well as custom content. The editor’s drag and drop capability, broad image repository, and preview function of the designed content accelerates content generation. Thus the authorized personnel are enabled to perform any desired updates on display devices respectively as a result of letting the users make every possible modification.

TAV IT : Network & Telecom Systems Infrastructure Implementor
In modern airports, in order to meet the requirements of today’s ever challenging business, it is not recommended but required to present a complete IT facility starting from telephony, networking and ending with airport systems and integrating them. As known most of those components are not visible to public within the terminal area, however they provide many indispensable facilities such as telephony, networking, security and other vital infrastructural services. Having duly examined the needs in airports on a continious basis,TAV IT strives to exceed the expectations of airports in the Telecom & Security area by meeting today’s any infrastructural implementation needs while utilizing best of breed technologies and integration approach. As TAV IT we are also capable to deliver the installation of countless subsystems for building a complete IT infrastructure any airport would need. Although there’re plenty of facilities in our portfolio, some outstanding components are as follows:
Those solutions include ToIP/VoIP, IPTV, DNE, SCS, MC, SACS, CCTV, FAS, PAS, BMS and CPMS. Below is given some brief descriptions for some of those systems.
VoIP : Making use of VoIP adapters airport staff can easily communicate within the terminal area without any additional fee. On the other hand this facility can be utilized as an additional service area for customers with or without an additional fee. VoIP enables the users to use various features expected for free such as Voice Mail, Call Forwarding, Caller ID while delivering lower cost service compared to landline telephone rates.
IPTV : One of the most popular technological topics in our era, IPTV distributes live or prerecorded TV and audio/video over existing data network. Given that this unlimited distribution can incorporate every network connected TV/PC. Although IPTV uses the existing data network, it doesn't compromise the network security
MC : Master Clock can be called as the reference point for almost all the subsystems throughout the airport along with the terminal itself. Given that it provides a very critical service for those systems by dispatching the precise clock in real time.
CCTV : Another indispensable facility in managing major buildings such as airports is the CCTV that takes on surveillance task by all means and meets the security requirements as expected.
BMS : Building Management System (BMS) is usually configured in a hierarchical manner, to control, monitor and manage all the equipment installed in the terminal building. This equipment can include heating, ventilation, cooling, security, and lighting
CPMS : Car Parking Management System is intended to control the flow of traffic in and out of a parking facility of an airport, track all revenue generated by the facility, and assist in capturing potential revenue reduction. A CPS System in an airport can provide some additional functions such as license plate recognition or automatic vehicle identification integration etc. But the main purpose of the system is the efficient management of parking facilities in terms of traffic flow and revenue.
